The Rancho dos Querubins property has an area of 104.6 hectares, with 72 hectares of forest, in an environmental protection zone. We also have several rivers and 5 springs.
We are located in the Cuesta region, in the municipality of Botucatu-SP, in a transition zone between two Brazilian biomes: the Atlantic Forest and the Cerrado; for this reason, it exhibits rich biodiversity.
We conducted a survey of local fauna species and were surprised to find 182 bird species belonging to the two biomes: Cerrado and Atlantic Forest. Based on this data, we chose to create a birdwatching area that combines conservation, leisure, and education.
To complete the cycle, enriching and balancing the agroforestry system, we planted different species of bamboo, considered the "vegetable steel," which will be used for construction, erosion control, and food. The bamboo is harvested and treated in running water in structures created for this purpose, without any chemicals, as is done in Vietnam and different regions of China.
