Agroforestry

Combining productivity with conservation and preservation of nature: agroforestry systems harvest sustainability and cultivate a green future.
In August 2019, the idea of producing different foods with high nutritional value without causing environmental impact was born at the Ranch. The proposal was to conserve the originality of the forest, increasing biodiversity, improving land use, ensuring water quality and preserving the property's 5 springs. Furthermore, it aimed to provide greater interaction between humans and nature. Thus, the agroforestry system was chosen. We studied, planned, observed, and chose.
In November 2020, we planted 3,000 trees of more than 25 native species. Because we are located in a transition zone between the Cerrado and the Atlantic Forest, we chose plants from both biomes that provide nutrition for both humans and wildlife.
Of all the species planted, the following were:
Avocado, açaí, blackberries, angico trees, red araçá, araucaria, pepper tree, bacaba, different varieties of banana, baru, Buda belly bamboo, cashew, cerrado chestnut, cedar, Dendrocalamus latiflorus and Dendrocalamus asper bamboo, grumixama, jackfruit, jatobá, macaúba, paineira, pitanga, juçara and pupunha palm hearts, pau brasil, pequi, urucum and others.
